Directly Feeding Large DC Loads Through PV Power Plants: Experimental Validation

A previous paper has presented the conceptual application of DC-DC converters for integration of PV plants to DC loads without conventional DC-AC stage. This paper shows the design, implementation and operation of an experimental setup specifically developed to demonstrate this new concept. The main scientific contribution of this paper is the validation of the proposed theory, besides providing technical insights into its main practical aspects. Simulation and experimental results are presented, as well as a discussion on additional experimental investigation that must be performed in the sequence of this work.
