Outcomes of screening mammography in women less than 40 prior to fertility treatment: a retrospective pilot study.

•There are currently no guidelines regarding breast cancer screening in women under 40 prior to assisted reproductive technology.•We detected 1 cancer in 80 women undergoing screening mammography prior to assisted reproductive technology.•Our pilot study suggests screening women prior to assisted reproductive technology may identify breast malignancies.
