A novel ferroelectric based on quinuclidine derivatives

One phase transition material [(CH3)2CH-C3H17N][CoBr4] was synthesized and underwent the phase transitionsfrom space group C2/c to Cc. The structural phase transition of 1 was ascribed to the distortion of [(CH3)2CH-C3H17N]2+ cation. The change of the dielectric permittivity and the spontaneous polarization gives compound 1 greater application potential for low temperature ferroelectrics.
