Iron deposits hosted by banded iron-formations in the Yilgarn Craton: products of sequential iron enrichment by magmatic, marine and meteoric fluids

•Algoma-type BIF in the Yilgarn Craton are locally enriched by hypogene fluids.•Magnetite ores form from felsic magmatic fluids and/or heated Archean seawater.•Later hematite ores formed by mixing between heated seawater and meteoric waters.•Fluids transition from felsic magmatic, to marine, to meteoric fluids with time.
