摘要

•A photocatalytic furfural fuel cell was designed.•A densely distributed ellipsoid-liked BiOCl film was in-situ synthesized on FTO.•The BiOCl photocathode showed a higher electromotive force under illumination.•Under illumination, I-V test showed a higher Voc than Pt-Pt fuel cell.
