Research On Real-Time Ber Estimation In Satellite Downlink

To overcome the disadvantage of BER measurement which must be tested in close loop with the source data foreknown, a online real time BER estimation method based on EVM which is analyzed in the prospect of signal quality is proposed, and a test system is built to simulate the satellite downlink. Experiments results show that the deviation between BER predicted and the measured is no more than 33%, which is acceptable in the BER test.
