•Thermoresponsive Poly(DEGMA)-based copolymers were prepared.•Aqueous solutions of prepared copolymers were studied by NMR Spectroscopy and DLS.•Diverse thermoresponsive behavior of side chain and backbone of poly(DEGMA) block.•Fully reversible phase transition of poly(DEGMA).•Two types of water, free and bound were detected above phase transition.
