Fault Location In Multi-Branch Distribution Network Based On The First Traveling Wave Time Difference Of Arrival Relationship

In order to solve the problem of fault location in Multi-branch distribution network, this paper schemes a new network method of fault location based on different arrival times of the first traveling wave. Firstly, the main-branch section rule is defined and the eigenmatrix is established according to the distribution network structure. Secondly, the real matrix is established according to the arrival time difference of first traveling wave. Finally, the fault section discrimination matrix is obtained to locate the fault section, and the traveling wave double-end method is adopted for fault location. The 35kv multi-branch distribution network model is built based on Simulink simulation, and the simulation results show that the presented method is able to find the fault location of multi-branch distribution network accurately and it is not affected by fault type, fault location and transition resistance. It can be concluded that the fault location still meets the accuracy requirement when misjudgment occurs by analyzing the possibility of misjudgment in fault section.
