Displacement Distribution Properties of Force Feedback Multilayer Piezoelectric Actuator

In this study, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 layer ceramic piezoelectric actuator were designed and simulated according to the variations of ceramic layer by ATILA software in order to develop the force feedback actuator of automobile. Numerical modeling based on the finite element method was done to find the resonance frequencies of the actuator. The resonance frequency was increased according to the increase of the thickness of layers. Maximum displacements of force feedback actuator were generated at the center of actuator. At the 5-layer ceramic piezoelectric actuator with the mass of 5.6 g, the highest displacement of 45.7 mu m at 1005 Hz was obtained.
