Possibilities of Increasing the Output Radiation Power of High-Current Relativistic Gyrotrons Using Operating Modes of the TM Type

摘要
The possibility is considered of mastering higher injection currents and increasing the output power of high-current relativistic millimeter-wave gyrotrons using operating modes of the TM type. A longitudinally slotted cavity that ensures discrimination of parasitic TE-type modes is investigated via numerical modeling and experimental tests. The possibility of selectively exciting the TM 51 mode with an output power of more than 200 MW and the TM 71 mode with an output power of more than 300 MW is demonstrated.
