Pose to Seat: Automated Design of Body-Supporting Surfaces

•We present an automated method for the generation of seating surfaces.•The surfaces are generated to fit the body of a given person in a specific pose.•A simplified physical model yields contact pressure with friction and joint moments which measures the comfort of sitting.•The generated surface is a quadrilateral mesh that can be used for further editing.
