Optimal Coil Design for a Quadrotor Wireless Charging System

摘要
This paper presents an optimization procedure for the coil design in a quadrotor wireless charging system. Optimization of the coils is an important step for low weight, small size, high efficiency and high power transfer of the charging system. It is difficult to analyze the performance of the coils before testing because of the complexity in evaluating the parasitic effects. Additionally, it is expensive and time-consuming to build and test different design options. This paper provides design equations for the optimization of the coils' parameters, including inductances, resistances, weight, Litz construction and frequency. MATLAB simulations are used to validate the results for a given frequency and dimension restrictions in the special application of quadrotors.
