摘要
This paper presents a 2.5-dimensional (2.5-D) based miniaturized-element frequency selective surface (FSS) using closed loop meander geometry. The structure is made of meander lines orthogonally patterned on the opposite sides of a dielectric material, and the imprints are connected by metallic vias at the corners, thereby increasing the current path. This results in a compact topology having unit cell sizes of 0.053 lambda(0) x 0.053 lambda(0), where is the operating wavelength at resonance frequency of 1.60 GHz. Further, the proposed design is angularly stable and polarization insensitive for both TE and TM polarizations. Several parametric variations and an equivalent circuit model have been studied to investigate the miniaturization characteristic of the proposed 2.5-D FSS structure.
