摘要
Abstract Austenitic Stainless Steels 316 L grade has been a revolutionary alloy in modern industry with a valuable mixture of properties like resistant to high temperature and formability characteristics. It being a good material for use in various applications. It posts us with the challenge to study its properties with change in vital variables like temperature and rate of loading on stretching operation. The primary aim of the work was to understand the formability behavior of 0.6 mm thick ASS 316 L sheets under different elevated temperatures and Strain rates. In the first study we have experimented and studied the tensile properties at 750 °C and 825 °C. ON the contrary the elongation has reduced in value with increase in the deformation speeds due to flow stresses in the material at higher temperature. In continuation to this we have also conducted the Nakazima Test on the specimens with thickness 0.6 mm and plotted the FLD’s experimentally and studied the forming behavior. In addition a laboratory scale limiting dome height (LDH) was done. The LDH was found to be higher at 825℃ in terms of temperature and at 0.001 s−1.
