Design of Satellite Borne DBF Multi-Beam Receiving System

DBF multi-beam phased array antenna has the advantage of high gain, wide coverage, so it can be used in satelite communication as userlink or inter-satellite link. In this paper, we propose a DBF multi-beam receiving system, this system works in Ka band, with phased array antenna and receiver integrated. This system consists of a 4 element antenna array, a multi-channel RF module, a DBF and communication module, and a testing system. It can generate 16 beams and demodulate the receiving signals simultaneously. The design methodology and test results of the system is discussed in the paper. The results shows that all of the functions and performances are in accordance with the design.
