Ultraviolet sensing characteristics of Ag-doped ZnO micro-nano fiber

•The UV sensing characteristics of a new all-fiber composite structure Ag-doped ZnO were studied.•The Ag-doped ZnO nanorods with a concentration of 0%-5% Ag were prepared on the micro-nano fiber by hydrothermal method.•The 4% concentration of Ag-doped ZnO UV sensor with a tapered waist diameter of 3.06 μm is more sensitivity.•The new all-fiber composite structure Ag-doped ZnO UV sensor can provide a better solution for UV detection.
