Modelling of a microreactor for the partial oxidation of 1-butanol on a titania supported gold catalyst

•n-Butyraldehyde was oxidized to products on a Au/TiO2 catalyst.•A coated-wall microreactor was used in the experiments.•The reactant conversion and the product yields were described with a kinetic model.•The work shows that microreactors are strong tools in the investigation of heterogeneous gas-phase kinetics.
