Effects of clogging on ultrasonic transmission through saturated granular single and double porosity media.

•Variation of acoustic properties of the porous media with particle deposition is highlighted.•Relations between transmitted signal energy and variation of porosity are developed.•Results demonstrate the sensitivity of ultrasonic method to the clogging phenomenon or internal erosion of porous media.
