Energy Efficient Instruction-set Extension Considering Inline Expansion

To reduce energy consumption of applications in embedded systems, instruction-set extension suitable for the application is necessary on ASIP. Inline expansion, one of the software optimization, is not considered in conventional instruction set extension method. In this paper, we propose energy efficient instruction-set extension method considering inline expansion. The experiment shows the proposed method reduce more energy consumption.
