CanMEDS role performance in a two-year postgraduate workplace-based community pharmacist specialisation programme

Objective: In The Netherlands, pharmacists have to complete a two-year postgraduate specialisation programme to become registered as community pharmacist specialist (Westein, 2018). Performance of trainees in predefined Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA’s) is assessed every three months by their supervisors using the seven roles of the CanMEDScompetency framework (Tromp et al., 2012; van der Vleuten et al., 2012). This research aims to find out how the CanMEDS-roles of trainees develop during the twoyear programme.
