摘要
In the large scale MANETs, mobile nodes could act either as resource providers, relays or requestors in the network. Since the storage space, the channel capacity and the energy supply are often limited, it is always worth considering the assignment between requestors and resources. We model two scenarios in this chapter, namely hospital assignment and energy charging. In the first scenario, the mobile node carries the patient to a hospital. Patients with different condition may compete for the same hospital. In the battery powered MANETs, mobile nodes need constantly charging to remain active. The problem lies in that energy critical nodes may not find an available charger in short distance and a temporary stationary node being assigned to a mobile charger. In both case, our goal is to optimize QoS (in terms of latency) in assigning requestors to resources. We extend the scheme to consider resource reservation along the time scale by estimating from the past records in history. As a result, the occupancy is balanced in order to reduce the risk of critical nodes being delayed. Then we develop an local waiting queue to keep serious nodes waiting locally, when it costs more to reach another available resource. Simulation results show the substantial improvement of our approach in average delay and number of failure-of-assignment.
