Modeling hydrology at the largest and longest scales

摘要
Solving inverse problems and achieving statistical rigour in hydrological models may require generating many model realizations. Parallel computation is necessary to achieve this in a reasonable time. However, few models are suited to leveraging modern parallelism. Here, I discuss new techniques for parallelizing models and their implications for enhancing our understanding of earth surface processes.
