A Modified Double Input Z-source DC-DC Converter for Standalone PV/Battery System Application

In this study, a double input DC-DC converter Z-source converter is proposed for standalone PV/Battery system application. In the suggested topology, the input DC voltage is boosted and achieves higher voltage gain and lower power losses due to the fewer switches. Furthermore, the proposed converter operates with wide range of load and two input sources are capable of supplying output load simultaneously or individually. The structure of the suggested double input DC-DC converter is presented and then, its operation principle is analyzed in detail. Voltage gain of converter is calculated and power management is performed for different states of the converter. Eventually, simulation results are given to confirm the validity of the proposed DC-DC converter and its theoretical analysis.
