Heat transfer enhancement of a multilayer graphene coating surface

•The sol-gel-coated surface had superior evaporation heat transfer.•The porous structures of sol-gel-coated surface increase the active contact surface.•CVD-coated surface improved of conduction heat transfer in higher temperature rage.•Thermal conductivity improved with increases in temperature in CVD-coated surface.
