摘要

•Pt-Fe/SiC showed high activity and selectivity for 3-nitrostyrene hydrogenation under mild condition.•Pt-Fe/SiC is applicable to the hydrogenation of substituted nitroarenes.•Fe species changed the electronic state of Pt and promoted vertical adsorption mode.
