Lung transplantation from non-heart beating donors

Although lung transplantation is well accepted for treatment of end-stage pulmonary diseases,donor shortage remains a significant limiting factor for the development of lung transplantation.In recent years,some lung transplantation centers have begun to use the lungs from donors after cardiac arrest,and satisfactory prognosis is obtained.Here we review the clinical categories,ischemia time,techniques for preservation and ex vivo lung assessment of lung transplantation from non-heart beating donors,and certain complications are also discussed.\r\n\r\nKey words: \r\nLung transplantation; Non-heart beating donor
