Assessing the impact of antiemetic guideline compliance on prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: Results of the nausea/emesis registry in oncology (NERO)

•This non-interventional study explored antiemetic clinical practice patterns, consistency with guidelines, and impact on patient outcomes.•Only 23% of all patients received were administered guideline-consistent CINV prophylaxis (GCCP).•Complete response rates were significantly higher in patients receiving GCCP than guideline-inconsistent prophylaxis.•This was seen in all patients as well as those receiving highly (HEC) and moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC).•Comprehensive multifaceted strategies are needed to achieve better adherence to antiemetic guidelines.
