•The contents of 10 sugar metabolites in tomato red rip fruit were significantly changed under salt treatment.•Plant fruit N-glycoproteome under salt treatment was reported for the first time.•A large number of N-glycoprotein were significantly down-regulated in salt treated tomato red rip fruit.•Many N-glycoproteins related to sugar conversion, taste-modifying and fruit firmness were significantly changed under salt treatment.
