Improved mechanical and biological properties of biodegradable thinner poly(l-lactic acid) tubes by bi-directional drawing

Drawbacks in the commercially available fully biodegradable polymeric stents: (I) Thick stent struts suffer from delayed re-endothelialization and high risk of in-stent restenosis and thrombosis. Meanwhile, (II) Thin stent struts by bi-directional drawing accelerate re-endothelialization and reduce the incidence of in-stent restenosis and thrombosis.
