First record of the brown shrimp Penaeus aztecus (Decapoda: Penaeidae) in the Gulf of Gabes (Central Mediterranean Sea, Tunisia)

This contribution reports for the first time the occurrence of the brown shrimp Penaeus aztecus Ives 1891 in the central Mediterranean Sea (Gulf of Gabes, southern Tunisia). This penaeid species was observed in 24 samples landed in Sfax harbour (Southern East of Tunisia). A full description of the species is given with illustrations.
