Stents and Scaffolds

This article provides a short overview over the development of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in general, the currently in Austria used drug-eluting stents (DES), as well as currently available bioresorbable drug-eluting vascular scaffolds (BVS). The discussion includes relevant published clinical data, as well as technical details relevant for clinical use (like crossing profile, expansion capacity, polymer and drug kinetic, etc.).
