摘要
The aim of the study was to investigate the association of high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hsCRP) in early adult with long term arterial stiffness. Data for the present analysis were gathered from 231 subjects aged 26 to 31 years at early adult period based on the 2 latest examination, current visit in 2013 and early adult visit in 2005 from the Hanzhong adolescent hypertension cohort. Positive correlation was found between brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) and hsCRP at early adult (r(s) = 0.154, P < 0.05) and current period (r(s) = 0.315, P < 0.01), respectively. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that when conventional risk factors in both periods were taken into account, the relations attenuated, but for current hsCRP levels, they remained statistically significant (beta = 0.146, P = 0.012). Same results were found in a model excluding participants who had hypertension. The results showed that plasma hsCRP in the same period, but not early period was independent risk factors of baPWV in this young population.
