Correction Factors of the Mindlin Plate Theory for the Overtone Vibrations of Piezoelectric Plates

As the analyses of high-frequency vibrations of piezoelectric plates are needed in the development of overtone resonators, correction factors have to be added into the Mindlin plate theory, which are widely used for the fundamental thickness-shear vibration analysis of quartz crystal resonators. With the fifth-order plate vibrations as our objective of analysis, we obtained correction factors with the systematic procedure we developed earlier for the thickness-shear and extensional families of vibration modes. The correction factors are further improved through the analysis of coupling of vibration modes of different deformation families.
