How to decrease surrounding environment of tunnel construction, especially, the impact of the existing structures has become a very important topic. Compared with other common structures, buildings are more sensitive to external effect because of complexity of structure and deformation mechanism. The construction method of calculating damages is described, and the critical strain and deflection ratio and other parameters calculations are introduced. The building damage level and risk gradation are discussed in the paper. By analyzing the engineering case with three-phase method, the risk level of the building is calculated, which offers guidance for tunnel construction
