Pyrite and pyrrhotite salt flux synthesis experiments have been performed at 600 degrees C in order to determine partition coefficients and distribution pattern of Au, Ag, PGE, and Zn in pyrite and pyrrhotite. It was found that distribution of all these metals but Au within the host sulfide matrix is close to homogeneous. Zn, Pt, and Pd are more enriched in pyrrhotite than in pyrite, whereas higher concentration of Ag was determined in pyrite.
