The influence of labor epidural analgesia on maternal, uteroplacental and fetoplacental hemodynamics in normotensive parturients: a prospective observational study

•Doppler provided a detailed view of pre-placental, placental and fetal hemodynamics.•Labor epidural analgesia resulted in a T8-10 sensory level within 30 min.•Mean systolic blood pressure fell from 132 to 123 mmHg after epidural analgesia.•Blood pressure in the control group without epidural analgesia remained unchanged.•All pulsatility indices were stable 30, 60, and 90 min after epidural analgesia.
