Pharmacokinetic, bioavailability, and metabolism studies of lusianthridin, a dihydrophenanthrene compound, in rats by liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry

•Metabolic profiles of lusianthridin were obtained from rats plasma, urine, bile, feces by UPLC-Q-TOF.•The relative content of metabolites were clarified by UPLC-UV.•An UPLC-MS/MS method was developed and validated to quantify lusianthridin in rat plasma.•The assay was applied for a pharmacokinetic study in rat after intravenous and oral administration.
