Recent Advances In Metal-Catalyzed Heterocyclic C-P Bond Formation

The heterocycles are important skeletons of many drugs, natural compounds and chemicals, and it also widely serves as building blocks in organic chemistry [1-7]. Remarkably, more than 85% of the drugs currently available contain at least one heterocyclic ring in their structures [8]. The organophosphorus of heterocycles units present as an important structural motif in natural products, organic ligands, pesticides and medicinal chemistry [9-11]. Owing to their wide structural diversity and peculiar properties, phosphorus-containing heterocycle compounds have attracted considerable attention in synthesis [12-17] (Scheme 1). Given the significance of organophosphorus of heterocycle compounds, it is particularly urgent to develop efficient and lesstoxic new synthetic methods for the synthesis of organophosphorus of heterocycles [18-21]. Hence, the highly efficient construction of these skeletons is one of the most important themes in organic synthesis. Because of their potential application in many fields, especially, the synthetic pesticides, medicine and catalyst, the phosphorus-containing heterocycles have attracted continuous attention from organic synthesis scientists. The development of efficient and low-cost catalytic systems is of great interest for the construction of heterocycles C-P bond. Usually, the phosphorus-containing heterocycles is prepared via direct carbon-hydrogen (C-H) bond activation or pre-functionalized of heterocycles with phosphorus-hydrogen (P-H) bond of phosphorus compounds reaction by metal-catalyzed. This review summarizes recent progress in the heterocycles C-P bond formation reactions by metal-catalyzed, which mainly focus on the discussion of the reaction mechanism. It aims to provide efficient methods for the future synthesis and application in this field.
