Development of a Novel Risk Score to Select the Optimal Candidate for Cytoreductive Nephrectomy Among Patients with Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma. Results from a Multi-institutional Registry (REMARCC)

At the diagnosis of metastatic renal cell carcinoma, the multidisciplinary clinical decision for upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy is controversial. Our current analysis suggests that patient (obesity and performance status) and tumor (number and location of metastatic disease) factors are relevant for the stratification of patients’ risk in our new model. The current data results require external validation by prospective data collection.
