Regulation of carotenoid metabolism in response to different temperatures in citrus juice sacs in vitro

•Carotenoid accumulation in citrus juice sacs was induced by low temperature at 10 °C.•Carotenoid accumulation in citrus juice sacs was maintained or slightly lower by high temperature at 30 °C.•The accumulation of carotenoid in response to temperatures was transcriptionally regulated by carotenoid metabolic genes.
