We correct a mistake in the computation of the spatial discretization error in the consistency result in Lemma 5.1 (and the following Theorem 5.2) of the published article [P. Lafitte, A. Lejon, and G. Samaey, SIAM T. Numer. Anal., 54 (2016), pp. 1-33]. Since the main contributions of the paper are related to time discretization, and only standard finite differences are used for the space discretization, this error does not invalidate the main conclusions on the asymptotic-preserving nature of the projective integration method.
