Transcatheter atrial septal defect closure (TAC) is a well-established therapy for most patients with secundum atrial septal defects (ASD) based on short-term data ([1][1]). In previous surgical studies, mortality was not significantly different from age-and-sex matched control subjects ([2][2]).
