摘要
Realizing both smaller cavity mode volume and higher Q factors is a key challenge for micropillar. Towards achieving this objective, we report a novel conic top-mirror micropillar resonator (CTMR). The special design of a conic mirror not only increases the Q factor of the micropillar, but reduces the cavity mode volume. In this paper, the eigenmodes confined in the CTMR are analyzed by the finite element method. Compared with the same size planar top mirror resonator (PTMR) and spherical top mirror resonator (STMR), the CTMR with small base angles has higher Q factors, smaller mode volume, narrow width and better output beam, which has great application prospects in cavity quantum electrodynamics and quantum information.
