Study on the Radiant Power of Ambient Electromagnetic Wave

Radio frequency energy harvesting technology could provide energy to micro embedding devices and therefore get more and more concerns. However, how much ambient radiant power in the human life could be utilized? Which frequency band has more RF power? These questions have no answer until now. For this, the authors design a radiant power measurement system based on SDR (Ettus USRP X310), then select 3 typical locations in Beijing and measure ambient radiant power in every location last 24 hours. From the measurement data, it can be found that the radiant powers at 500~560MHz, 850~970MHz and 1790~1910MHz are very high (exceeding -30dBm) and quite stable in all locations and during all periods.
