•We addressed the dynamic Dial-a-Ride service operated by the company (www.padam.io).•We proposed two new insertion techniques based on ejection chain concept.•Proposed approaches were extensively tested on real and hard instances.•The results revealed the performance of using reinsertion techniques for the DARP.
