Pediatric Hospitalist Nocturnist Program at an Academic Medical Center - Costs and Benefits

Background: In-house pediatric hospitalist attending coverage 24/7 is required for hospitals to be certified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons. Little is known about the effects of having in-house attending nocturnist coverage on hospital utilization.
