摘要
The present work was carried out to green synthesis of silver nanoparticles by using fresh aqueous tuber extract ofJatropha heynei. The Jt-AgNPs are characterized by different spectroscopic techniques, the surface plasmon resonance of Jt-AgNPs was observed at 420 nm. The FTIR analysis revealed that various functional groups of tuber extract are responsible for the reduction. The average particle size of Jt-AgNPs was detected to be around 12.4 nm +/- 1 nm and the zeta potential of Jt-AgNPs was around -13 mV, the negative charge indicates stability and dispersion of the nanoparticles. The elemental silver in Jt-AgNPs was found by EDAX and is around 81.96%. The XRD analysis revealed that the Jt-AgNPs are crystalline in nature. The antibacterial activity on both Gram - ve and Gram + ve bacteria showed excellent activity. The antibacterial potential of Jt-AgNPs resulted in promising inhibitory activity against total coli forms in the drinking water. Finally, we can conclude that Jt-AgNPs may probably be used as water purification agents in the future.
