Formulation of partition coefficient of impurities in a growing crystal based on the Burton-Cabrera-Frank model

•Burton–Cabrera–Frank model was extended to a system that includes impurities.•Degree of impurity uptake into crystal was formulated as partition coefficient.•Dependence of partition coefficient on supersaturation was investigated.•This model provides a new theoretical framework for analyzing impurity partitioning.
