The Perception Effect of Color S3D Images for Multiple Display Modes

Nowadays, visual comfort and stereo viewing experience are both important indicators for the assessment of Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) image. This paper mainly uses subjective evaluation method to study the perception experience for multiple display devices under varied modes and sizes: time-division 3D screen and 3D projector. A computer-generated object is set as the 3D target, with different parallax magnitude and color. The evaluating indicators include visual comfort, space perception and volume perception. The experimental results proved that in different display modes, the parallax magnitude and color have different effects on the perceived effect. Overall, the time-division screen showed better display performance than the projection. This data and analysis will provide foundational research for the related study of objective assessment of S3D images, and is helpful for the further development of display technology.
