Prescriptions for change: a tool-kit for achieving more responsible medicines use on farm.

This interactive, team-taught workshop will equip farm animal clinicians with the tools to achieve more responsible medicines use on farm, by drawing on the experience of staff working in Langford Farm Animal Practice (LFAP) and Friars Moor Veterinary Group (FMVG). It will explore the motivations behind established prescribing practices and consider how to make monitoring both medicines use and AMR an integrated part of herd health management (HHM), by both informing an understanding of disease patterns and demonstrating the impact of health interventions. The link between improved HHM and responsible medicines use will be clearly defined. The challenges to and solutions for achieving and monitoring responsible medicines use on farm will be explored and participants will be given the opportunity to reflect on strategies for motivating lasting change on farm.
